Hello,

I’m Dai “day” Danhi, a results-driven and community-centered Design Researcher.
Manifesto
Community is the net that catches us when we fail, the push that propels us into a new expedition, and the soil where connection can be rooted and entangled. Community must be nurtured, and connection must be the nurturer.
Connection is beyond the intimacy of lovers, it is the act of seeing people as whole beings who are worthy of respect, safety, and community.
To exist as your whole self against external expectation is an act of positive rebellion. To have ‘community’ to support you is pivotal to survival. Existing as ‘one’ is a strength, but to exist in unity with others is ascendancy.
Through community, knowledge is shared, passed down, and transformed into core values. The knowledge that shapes such values must be diverse in gender, intellectual ability, physical ability, race, cultural background, and centered in respect and love for all. Connection cannot be rushed. Tenderness must inform all stages of forming a connection.
Diverse Voices Paired with Diverse Capabilities

Knowledge is Power
What goes into the research is given back to the community; the relationships built and knowledge gained are shared and passed along and built upon
Advocating for Accessibility
Make room for overlaps in accessibility, know that designing for one group’s needs can overlap with another group that isn’t visible
Users Needs First
Always center the user(s), default to their personal experience to inform actionable next steps
